Furby was our second ever Christmas hamster. I bought him on December
15, 1998, when he was approximately 8 weeks old. To keep him a surprise until
Christmas for my family, I asked some friends to keep him until Christmas eve.
While they had him, they nicknamed him Furby, and the name stuck.
I loved Furby's coloring and furriness so much that I wanted him
to father a litter of hamsters. So in November of 1999, I introduced him to Pikachu,
and he was smitten immediately. Sixteen days later, 13 adorable hamster babies

Furby enjoyed playing on the stairs. He was very good at slinking
down each step. You can see a picture of this above (second row #2).
Furby was our second longest-living hamster. He died April 1,
2001, at the age of 2 years 5 1/2 months.
